Rajpal Yadav cheque bounce case hearing: Court gives time till 3pm to the actor to pay Rs 1.5 crore to grant bail
Rajpal Yadav has been in Tihar jail since the last few days as the actor was asked to surrender in several cheque bounce cases. The actor's lawyer had filed a bail application citing a family wedding and a hearing took place last week on Thursday. But it was further adjourned to Monday. Now as per the latest update, the court has given the actor time till 3pm today, February 16, 2026, to pay Rs 1.5 crore in order to grant him bail.
Bar And Bench reported, Counsel appearing for Rajpal Yadav told the court that the actor is ready to deposit Rs 1.5 crore through a Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR) without any conditions attached. Responding to this, Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma clarified, “You already know, it should be a DD." The court further recorded that a demand draft (DD) of Rs 25 lakh is already in the name of the respondents, and an additional Rs 75 lakh DD had been submitted earlier.
The Delhi High Court then granted Rajpal Yadav’s counsel time until 3 pm today to furnish a demand draft of ₹1.5 crore in favour of the respondent as a condition for interim bail. The court stated, “If you submit it by 3pm today, we will release you. If not, we’ll take up the matter tomorrow morning.”
The matter has now been adjourned to 3 pm.
Meanwhile, Rajpal Yadav's wife Radha Yadav spoke about him in an exclusive chat with Bombay Times and thanked people in the industry for their support. When asked how he was doing, she said, “He is okay, from what I understand.”
Speaking about the support he has been receiving from the industry, Radha added, “Our whole family is together at this time. We are very grateful for the support and love he is receiving from his fans and the film fraternity.”There have been rumours that multiple actors such as Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and others have paid off the actors debt, Radha addressed the speculations, and clarified, "I can’t take any specific names right now, but I would just want to say many people from the industry have stepped in to support. I’m not able to divulge names and figures at this stage. We are very hopeful that he will be out soon. That’s all I can say now. Once Rajpalji is out, he will be able speak to you and the media and give further clarity on the matter.”Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the latest Hindi movies, upcoming Hindi movies in 2026 , and Telugu movies.”
