Ram Gopal Varma predicts Dhurandhar 2 to become the biggest multi-starrer film ever

For weeks now, the celebrations around Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar have refused to slow down. The epic action drama has become more than just a hit, it has turned into a cultural wave that has redefined not only spy films but also how Bollywood can stand up against dominance of south cinema. With each passing day, the conversations have only grown louder, and a popular industry insider recently summed up the sentiment perfectly with a striking line that has now gone viral, Ram Gopal Varma wrote, “Dhurandhar 2 will be the biggest multi starrer ever, in the history of cinema, because each and every character in the 1st film has become enormously huge in the audiences mind, in terms of both their value and impact, which is what true stardom is really about. In the 1st part the characters could have been small or big but now all of them have become giant super stars and hence #Dhurandhar2 will be the BIGGEST MULTI STARRER ever.”

Ram Gopal Varma has been one of the biggest supporters of the film, when the film turned into a hit, taking to twitter he wrote, " Whenever a pathbreaking and monstrous hit like #dhurandhar comes, the industry people will wish to ignore it because they will feel threatened by it due to their inability to match its standards. So they will think of it as a nightmare, which will vanish when they wake up in their own films. This is even more true of all the so-called pan-India biggies, which are right now under various stages of production. They were all written and mounted, modeled on the films made before #dhurandhar, which is the exact opposite of what they all believed would work. What’s even more worrisome is that #dhurandhar, apart from being an omega hit, is also the most discussed film of the last 50 years.”


The box office numbers paint the rest of the picture. After 45 days, Dhurandhar has amassed a staggering Rs 821 crore in India, making it the biggest Hindi film of all time. Internationally, the film has been equally dominant, especially in North America where it has become a record-breaking phenomenon with Rs 184.30 crore already locked in the second-highest ever for an Indian film and by far the highest for a Hindi-language release.

The unprecedented success has now turned the anticipation for Dhurandhar 2 into an event of its own. The sequel is slated to arrive on 19th March 2026, and with every character from the first film now elevated to superstar stature in the minds of viewers, the stage is set for what industry watchers are calling “a cinematic earthquake in waiting.”

The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Gaurav Gera, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun.
