Rashmika Mandanna starrer ‘Chhaava’ set to release simultaneously in Russia

Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna starrer ‘Chhaava’ is set to enhance its foreign collections as the period drama movie will be releasing simultaneously in Russia as well. According to the 123 Telugu website, Laxman Utekar’s directorial will be released in Russia and India as well on February 14 this year. As the expectations are quite high for the Vicky Kaushal starrer, the movie will be surely raking in good numbers on its opening day.

Meanwhile, the makers of the film have now announced their decision to omit a dance sequence from ‘Chhaava’ as it was criticized to be not historically accurate. The sequence showed Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Rashmika Mandanna as the Queen Yesubai. Both were seen performing a Lezim dance. The makers decided to delete the sequence from the film as it received criticisms from several including Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati, a descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and also from fellow descendant Udayanraje Bhosale.Director Laxman Utekar announced the decision to delete the dance sequence. According to NDTV, Laxman said, “The meeting with Raj Thackeray was to seek his advice. His knowledge of history, especially regarding Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is extensive.
He provided valuable suggestions for changes, which we will implement. As for the scene featuring Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj playing 'Lezim', we will delete it. It was not our intention to hurt anyone's sentiments."The period drama movie has the music composed by the legendary AR Rahman and the cinematography is by Saurabh Goswami. Apart from Rashmika Mandanna and Vicky Kaushal, ‘Chhaava’ also features the actors Diana Penty, Akshaye Khanna, Vineeth Kumar Singh, Ashutosh Rana and Divya Dutta in pivotal roles.
