From Salman Khan reuniting with his ‘Wanted ‘ and ‘Dabangg 3’ director Prabhudheva for ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ to Ranbir Kapoor reuniting coming together with his ‘Wake Up Sid’ and ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ director Ayan Mukerji, we take a look at some of the biggest actors of Bollywood collaborating with their previous filmmakers on new projects.
Salman Khan and Prabhudheva - ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’
Salman Khan starred in Prabhudheva’s ‘Wanted’ that changed the course of the superstar’s career in 2009. The actor reunited with the filmmaker last year for the much-awaited ‘Dabangg 3’.
Now, the actor-director duo is all set to collaborate once again for their upcoming film, ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’. Salman will be seen reuniting with her ‘Bharat’ co-star Disha Patani in the film. The movie also features Randeep Hooda and Jackie Shroff in key roles.
The film was supposed to hit the theatres on the occasion of Eid this year. However, the film was postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown.
Ranbir Kapoor and Ayan Mukerji - ‘Brahmastra’
Bollywood’s BFFs, Ranbir Kapoor and Ayan Mukerji are also one of the most popular actor-director duos in the Hindi film industry. After giving hits like, ‘Wake Up Sid’ and ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, they are all set to collaborate once again for their upcoming film, ‘Brahmastra’.
The upcoming fantasy drama will star Ranbir’s ladylove Alia Bhatt in the lead role. ‘Brahmastra’ will be the couple’s first film together. Apart from them, the movie also features Amitabh Bachchan, Dimple Kapadia, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Mouni Roy in key roles. The film is slated to hit the theatres on December 4 this year.
Vicky Kaushal and Aditya Dhar -‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’
After winning hearts with ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, Vicky Kaushal and Aditya Dhar are all set to come together once again for ‘Immortals of Ashwatthama’.
The film, billed as a superhero action film set in modern times, is being planned as a trilogy but Aditya said they will make the third one depending on the response to the first two.
Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan - ‘Coolie No. 1’
After collaborating with father David Dhawan in ‘Main Tera Hero’ and ‘Judwa 2’, Varun Dhawan is all set to reunite with the ace filmmaker once again for the upcoming film, ‘Coolie No. 1’.
The film is an official remake of the 1995 hit film by the same name that starred Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in lead roles. The remake stars Varun in the role of Govinda and Sara Ali Khan in the role of Karisma. The film was slated to hit the theatres on May 1 this year, on the occasion of Labour’s Day. However, the film was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown.
John Abraham and Milap Zaveri - ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’
John Abraham and Milap Zaveri’s combination in ‘Satyameva Jayate’ received positive appreciation and reviews from the audience and critics alike. Now, they are all set to reunite for the second instalment of the movie.
Apart from John Abraham, the movie will also star Divya Khosla Kumar and Manoj Bajpayee in key roles. The film is slated to hit the theatres on May 12, 2021.
