Sanjay Gupta has reacted to
Ranbir Kapoor's '
Ramayana' teaser. The director decided to call out makers boasting about getting the VFX gaint, which had won an Oscar for its work on a Hollywood project. He expressed his opinion on his social media account.
Sanjay Gupta reacts to the 'Ramayana' VFX team
According to the IANS report, Sanjay Gupta took to his X account to point out that a VFX company doesn't win an Oscar, but the people working on the project do. He wrote, "Obvious observation. VFX companies don’t win Oscars. The technicians do."
For those unaware, makers of 'Ramayana' have roped in VFX giant DNEG for their film. The company had won an Oscar for Best Visual Effects for 'Dune: Part Two' at the 97th Academy Awards.
Earlier, after the release of the 'Ramayana' first teaser, the filmmaker had posted, "KHODA PAHAAD… NIKLA CHUHA." Though he didn't tag anyone in the post, netizens linked his post to the teaser.
For the uninitiated, the phrase 'Khoda pahaad, nikla chuha' means something that created a lot of fuzz before the final result, and the outcome eventually disappoints.
'Ramayana' teaser reaction
While some enjoyed watching the small first glimpse of the film, others called out the makers for the use of poor VFX. Some even went on to call it 'Adipurush 2.0'. A person wrote, "Adipurush dropped the bar so low that this might look cinematic to some of you. Otherwise, for a ₹4,000 crore film, it feels underwhelming. A few shots work, but most look AI-generated. Expected far better. Hope they fix it before the final release."
