Vicky Kaushal is, slowly but steadily, climbing the ladder and making a place for himself in the industry. After his last outing in ‘Bhoot-Part one: The Haunted Ship’, he has a very interesting line-up of films up his sleeves. ‘Sardar Udham Singh’

Vicky had wrapped up the shoot of his upcoming biographical film, ‘Sardar Udham Singh’ last year before the pandemic-caused worldwide lockdown was imposed. The actor will be seen playing the titular role in the movie. The Shoojit Sircar directorial is the cinematic portrayal of the life of the freedom fighter, Sardar Udham Singh, who assassinated former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab, Michael O' Dwyer in 1940. The assassination was reportedly intended to avenge the brutal Jallianwala Bagh massacre, which took place in Amritsar on April 13, 1919.

‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’

Vicky will be turning into a superhero for Aditya Dhar’s upcoming film, ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’, in which he plays a character inspired by the warrior Ashwatthama, who had a crucial role in the war between Pandavas and Kauravas in Mahabharata. This is the second time that Vicky will be seen collaborating with Aditya Dhar after their first successful venture, ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’. Calling it the biggest film of his career yet, the actor claimed it was going to be an exhilarating experience for him to explore technology alongside his craft.

Sam Manekshaw biopic

Vicky will be seen playing the titular role in Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming biopic on India's first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. Remembering him on his death anniversary, Vicky had shared his first look from the film, writing, "I feel honoured, emotional and proud of getting a chance to unfold the journey of this fearless patriot, the swashbuckling general, the first Field Marshal of India - Sam Manekshaw".
