Shah Rukh Khan, on Thursday, confirmed his presence at
Lionel Messi's much-anticipated tour. The actor set social media abuzz when he revealed that he would be present for the upcoming event this weekend.
“This time round not planning my Knight in Kolkata… and hoping the day Ride is completely ‘Messi’. See you guys on the 13th at the Salt Lake Stadium,” SRK wrote in a tweet.

Amid the buzz around the highly awaited meet-up, an old clip of Shah Rukh expressing his deep admiration for the football icon has resurfaced on fan handles. Th clip from one of SRK’s earlier television appearances went viral on social media. In it, the actor speaks fondly of Messi, saying, “Messi ke liye bohot mohabbat hai.”
The actor went on to add, “A lot of people who don't play football, in India, where kids turn their attention to cricket, they also know who Messi is.”

Fans celebrated the cinema and football crossover with one user writing, “Sir, you just show up… Bengal’s crowd will take care of making the day truly ‘Messi’!” Another called it the “meet-up of the biggest megastars of their respective fields.” Many are even waiting to see if SRK will teach Messi his iconic pose.

About the Messi tour
Messi will arrive on Friday to begin the three-day tour, which spans Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi from December 13 to 15. The football legend’s first stop is Kolkata, where thousands are expected to gather at Salt Lake Stadium for the grand opening event. During his visit, he is also set to meet former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
