Shashanka Ghosh’s next is a sex comedy

Director Shashanka Ghosh, who delivered the recent hit, ‘Veere Di Wedding’, is gearing up for his next release. And no, it isn’t a full-length feature film like ‘Veere’, which starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania in main roles.
According to an entertainment website, Shashanka Ghosh will next be working on a website, which will explore sex in a lighter vein. The finite series, yet to be titled, will be aired on Times Group’s soon-to-be-launched OTT platform.
In the meanwhile, though Veere Di Wedding enjoyed a good run at the box office, the film also evoked criticism from various quarters, who called it flimsy and frivolous. When asked about the criticism his film faced, the director told a news agency that he was not planning to make art. Instead, he said, he wanted to make a relatable and absorbing entertainer.
Regarding his web series, the filmmaker said that he decided to make it only because he could visualise the story his way. As a filmmaker, he noted, the medium did not make any difference to him. Details about the web series are yet to be divulged.
