Shashi Tharoor calls Priyanka Chopra ‘remarkable’ after Harvard reunion; Actress delivers motivational speech to students
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor reunited with Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra at the annual Harvard India Conference, and posted photos as he gushed about the meet.
Tharoor and Chopra were among the headline speakers at this year’s conference, a student-led initiative hosted at Harvard University. According to the official post, the annual gathering brings together leaders across Indian business, policy and culture, with speakers spanning industries such as technology, finance, literature and sport. Badminton champion P. V. Sindhu was also listed among the prominent names at the event.
Sharing photographs from the backstage interaction, Tharoor wrote, “Caught up with @priyankachopra (after more than a decade) in the wings at @Harvard backstage, just before her appearance as the closing keynote of the @HarvardIndConf. Remarkable to see (and hear) how well she is doing! She has made India proud by conquering a stage on which Indians rarely get to appear. And of course she looks stunning, appears perfectly poised and sounds thoughtful and wise - what’s not to be proud of?!”
Reacting to the post, Priyanka wrote, "It was so good to see you again @ShashiTharoor Sir. Have always had such admiration for the orator that you are but as well for your clap backs,. thank you so much for staying for my panel and your wisdom. Hope you feel better soon and our paths cross again."
Chopra took the stage, where she reflected on her journey from India to the United States and the defining experiences that shaped her personal and professional life. Opening up about moving to the US as a teenager for her schooling, she told the audience, “Your life is a sum of choices and experiences. And me moving to America at that young age, it was a very defining age or teen years, you know, you kind of are influenced into the adult that you're becoming, you kind of choose the things that work for you, serve you. And I spent that time in the States. So it definitely defined me, made me independent.”
Chopra, is regarded as one of the few Indian talents who have successfully bridged careers in Bollywood and Hollywood. The actress, who has been seen in multiple Hollywood productions, will soon be making her return to the Indian screens with SS Rajamouli's 'Varanasi', co-starring Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj. She will also be seen in the upcoming OTT release 'The Bluff'.
