Sridevi Chowk to be unveiled in Lokhandwala in the late actress' honour six years after her demise - See photo

Six years after Sridevi's passing, a chowk in Lokhandwala will be named in her honor. Located at the junction of her longtime residence, the chowk will be called Sridevi Chowk.

Sridevi began her illustrious career as a child artist in 1967 with the Tamil film Kandhan Karunai and went on to feature in iconic films such as Mr. India, Chaalbaaz, and many others. Her final film was Mom, released in 2017.

The Kapoor family, including Janhvi Kapoor, Boney Kapoor, and Khushi Kapoor, will be present for the naming ceremony on October 12.



The decision to name the junction in Lokhandwala Complex as Sridevi Kapoor Chowk is particularly meaningful, as the iconic actress once lived on the same road at Green Acres Tower. Additionally, her funeral procession passed along the nearby Purshotam Tandon Road. This request from residents and the municipality to honor her by naming the street Sridevi Chowk reflects a deep, heartfelt connection to her legacy.



In an interview with DNA, Boney Kapoor shared his concerns about the possibility of a biopic on Sridevi's life. He highlighted her private nature, emphasizing that her personal life should remain undisclosed. Kapoor stated firmly that he would not allow such a biopic to be made while he is alive.
