Sharing a lighthearted yet emotional memory, she said, “So I had told my baba and the driver, ‘Baba, jaise hi bahar niklenge room se, gadi start kro, hum bhag jaenge bachhe ko leke because ye to mazak hai. They can’t say no. She’s almost calling me Ma’.”
She further revealed that she broke down in front of the judge and pleaded her case. The judge then asked her father, Shubeer Sen, if he supported his daughter’s decision, knowing it might affect her chances of marriage. Quoting him, Sushmita said, “She has chosen this motherhood and one thing I know my daughter to do is follow through.”
