Celebrity photographer Avinash Gowariker recently shared fascinating behind-the-scenes memories from a special shoot with Shah Rukh Khan and his family. The shoot, which was for Gauri Khan’s coffee table book, took place at their iconic Mumbai residence, Mannat. “It’s at Mannat and not the store. It was on the ground floor,” he revealed in an interview with Bollywood Bubble. One of the standout images from the shoot featured Shah Rukh Khan with his elder son Aryan Khan. Reflecting on the photo, Gowariker expressed his admiration for Aryan. “Love it yeah. I just love Aryan—his energy, confidence, swag,” he said. While he initially looked forward to Aryan becoming an actor, Gowariker noted with pride, “He’s become a director.”Speaking about Aryan’s directorial venture, he added, “What a series he has made, it’s unbelievable. I was lucky to see some parts of it. He’s too cool, talented, and Shah Rukh’s relationship with him is mind-blowing.”Father-son bond like no otherGowariker was particularly struck by the dynamic between Shah Rukh and Aryan, saying their chemistry was unlike the usual parent-child portrayals. “Normally, it’s mother and son and father and daughter, in shots.
But there’s a crazy chemistry between Shah Rukh and Aryan, the way they look and the way it is,” he explained. The shot was planned as part of a series of family combinations for the coffee table book, highlighting the natural camaraderie and style the family exudes. The shoot also included Suhana Khan, who Gowariker praised for her elegance. “Suhana is also lovely. I mean, look at her poise here... she’s sitting in the picture just like a supermodel. I love the shot,” he said.

AbRam stole the show with his energyThe youngest Khan, AbRam, brought infectious joy to the set. Recalling the same-day shoot, Gowariker said, “How much he was laughing, he’s too cute.” When asked about a viral rumour that he made Aryan laugh in the picture, Gowariker clarified it was actually AbRam who sparked the laughter.
“He’s a poser. You tell him to chin up, he will react, chin down, same. He’s unbelievable. He is too much fun, and everyone loves him,” the photographer shared. “He was laughing a lot in this shot. Something funny happened, some family internal joke or something. I didn’t make him laugh; it was AbRam who did it.”
