The unseen side of Akshay Kumar: ‘Mujhe mauka mila seva karne ka mai seva kar raha hun’
Oftentimes, celebrities use their wealth for good and give back to the community. Bollywood legend, Akshay Kumar is also one of the many names in the industry who enjoys doing philanthropic work. However, he doesn't like to talk about it much.
He then raised a question as to why the actor never reveals his good deeds and how he actively talks about earning money, but never speaks about giving back to the community, on the other hand.
To this, the ‘Bhoot Bangla’ actor replied at the time by saying, “Main kaise bolun? Kitna bewakoof sa lagunga agar main yeh kahoon ki are maine itne paise diye hai. Main yah kar raha hoon main woh kar raha hun. Arey yah mujhe mauka mila seva karne ka mai seva kar raha hun. Yeh mera saubhagya hai jo mujhe yah mila hai kaam karne ka” (How do I say it? I'd sound so foolish if I said, ‘Hey, I paid so much money. I'm doing this, I'm doing that. I've been given this opportunity to serve, and I'm serving. I'm fortunate to have this opportunity to work.’)
On the work front, the actor last appeared in the horror comedy film ‘Bhoot Bangla’ and is slated to appear in two big-budget franchise hits. First, he will appear in ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, which will be released later this month, and ‘Housefull 5’, which is currently in production.
Akshay Kumar feels grateful that he can give back to the community
While starring as a guest on ‘Aap Ki Adaalat’ last year, Rajat Sharma questioned the actor about why he is not public about the efforts he makes and how he gives back to society. He listed out some of the things that the actor has done in the past, citing that “Pichle 7 saal mein aapne Rs 76 crore se zyada seva ki rehti hain cancer ke liye, education ke liye, flood relief ke liye karodon rupaye aapne donate kiye” (In the last 7 years, you have served more than ₹76 crores. You have donated crores of rupees for cancer, education, and flood relief.)He then raised a question as to why the actor never reveals his good deeds and how he actively talks about earning money, but never speaks about giving back to the community, on the other hand.

Akshay Kumar on being a money-minded person
In the same interview, the actor even talked about the allegations of him being a money minded person. Talking about the same, the actor commented, “Agar paisa kamaya hai to loot ke nahin kamaya. Maine kaam karke kamaya hai. 8 saal se main sabse jyada tax dene wala celebrity hun. To kya yeh mani-minded hone ka saboot hai? Paisa jindagi ka jaruri hissa hai, practical hona padta hai” (If I've earned money, it's not through robbery. I've earned it through hard work. For eight years, I've been the highest-tax-paying celebrity. So, is this proof of being money-minded? Money is an essential part of life; one has to be practical.)On the work front, the actor last appeared in the horror comedy film ‘Bhoot Bangla’ and is slated to appear in two big-budget franchise hits.
