Tollywood actor Varun Tej will be next seen in the upcoming Korean horror-comedy film, 'Korean Kanakaraju', directed by Merlapaka Gandhi. Been in the making for more than a year now, latest reports suggest that the makers are eyeing for an August release.

'Korean Kanakaraju' release buzz

As per a report by 123Telugu, Varun Tej starrer is expected to be hitting the big screens on August 7, 2026. In addition to it, the makers are also said to be releasing a new glimpse in the third week of June. It must be mentioned that the makers are yet to make an official announcement.

Earlier in April the makers shared some behind-the-scenes glimpse as they shared a video where the team can be seen working and having fun shooting the song ‘Kamsahamnida’. The makers shared it on social media and wrote, "Behind every crazy vibe song… there’s an even crazier making! Here’s the BTS of #KoreanKanakaraju first single #Kamsahamnida."

About 'Korean Kanakaraju'

Varun Tej is seen in a mass and rugged look opposite Ritika Naik who plays the female lead. The cast also includes comedian Satya in a key role. The story of the film is set in India and Korea. Varun Tej will be seen in a different role. His character is said to be very new and special.

Varun Tej suffered an injury

Varun Tej is also working on his other film, ‘Bhari’ which is a sports action drama backed by cousin Niharika Konidela’s production banner. Unfortunately, the actor while training for the film got injured and had to undergo a surgery. Later in April he shared that the surgery went well and he is now focused on a quick recovery under the care of doctors. In the film, Varun will be seen as a volleyball player.
