When Salman Khan had a mature reaction to ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai’s wedding to Abhishek Bachchan, even after she had accused him of abuse: ‘I don’t think she’ll…’

Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai’s rumoured relationship was one of the most discussed topics in the early years of their careers. Their once-admired romance reportedly ended on a bitter note. Aishwarya went on to marry Abhishek Bachchan, while Salman continues his life as a bachelor.


Aishwarya Rai’s Shocking Revelations about Salman Khan


In a 2002 interview, Aishwarya opened up about the emotional and physical toll the relationship had taken on her. She stated that she endured Salman’s violent and abusive behaviour: “I stood by him, enduring his alcoholic misbehaviour in its worst phases, and in turn, I was at the receiving end of his abuse — verbal, physical and emotional — infidelity, and indignity. I would go to work as if nothing had happened. Salman hounded me and caused physical injuries to himself when I refused to take his calls. That is why, like any other self-respecting woman, I ended my relationship with him.”

However, Salman offered an entirely different version of events. Speaking to NDTV in an older interview, he firmly denied the allegations and even pointed to what he described as the physical improbability of the accusations:

“Now, the woman has said that I have, what to say... A journalist, who asked me this a long time ago, and I just banged the table and he got startled — as if the table really broke. I said, ‘Now if I hit somebody, it’s obviously going to be a fight. I’m going to be angry. Forget whack, I’m going to give her my best shot. I don’t think she’ll survive it. So no, it’s not true, and I don’t know for what reason that was said.’”


Salman expressed goodwill towards Aishwarya’s marriage to Abhishek

The 'Sikandar' actor later addressed Aishwarya’s marriage to Abhishek Bachchan during a 2010 interview with India TV. He stated that he was happy about her marriage, calling Abhishek “a great guy from a good family” and wished her a happy life ahead.

On the work front, Salman Khan is currently preparing for his upcoming film Battle of Galwan.
