Vicky Kaushal, one of Bollywood’s most bankable stars today, once found himself behind bars—albeit for an unexpected reason. In a clip that is now doing the rounds of social media, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap shared this anecdote while he was promoting his film Gangs of Wasseypur on The Kapil Sharma Show.
The incident took place while Kashyap and his team were filming at a real location—without official permission. As the crew went about their work, they soon discovered that the site was being used for illegal sand mining. The mafia controlling the mining operations was running their business covertly, and the film crew’s presence did not go unnoticed by the authorities.
The situation took a dramatic turn when the police, leading to the arrest of the film’s cast and crew. Vicky Kaushal who was then assisting Anurag on the film as an assistant director .
However, as Kashyap humorously recounted, Vicky Kaushal was not the only one who faced this ordeal. Shlok Sharma, the director of Haramkhor, managed to one-up Kaushal in this unintended misadventure—he was sent to jail not once but twice! The Gangs of Wasseypur director recalled the incident with laughter, showing how the chaotic situation later became an amusing story within the film industry.
