On February 23, 2026, 21-year-old BSc student and YouTuber Bonu Komali was found dead at her rented house in Hyderabad, Telangana. Reports suggest she sent a final message to her mother before taking the extreme step.
Who was Bonu Komali?
Bonu Komali, a young BSc student and part-time YouTuber from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, had been living alone in Hyderabad for nearly 11 months while pursuing her higher education and creating lifestyle videos for her YouTube channel.
Bonu Komali's last message to her mother
According to police reports, Bonu sent a heartfelt message to her mother, B. Satya Varalakshmi, at around 1:34 a.m. on Monday. She texted, "I love you mummy so much. Jagratha. Thammudini baaga chusuko" (I love you mummy so much. Be careful. Take good care of my younger brother). Her mother, who works in Kuwait as a babysitter, tried calling immediately but found Bonu’s phone switched off. Worried, she reached out to a friend in Hyderabad, who visited Bonu’s apartment later that day and discovered her hanging from the ceiling fan.
Police investigation and findings
The preliminary investigation by the Raidugram police indicated that Bonu’s suicide resulted from severe emotional distress stemming from a prolonged relationship dispute with a 27-year-old YouTuber and software engineer. The two had ended their three-year relationship, which is believed to have contributed to her tragic decision. Police also revealed that Bonu had previously attempted suicide about six months earlier for the same reason.
