Actress Yaami Gautam, who made a successful debut in Bollywood with John Abraham’s home production ‘Vicky Donor’ that was directed by Shoojit Sircar, says she will never shirk away from complimenting her contemporaries. And one of the actresses that came to Yaami’s mind when asked who she would consider her competition was Parineeti Chopra, who is known for her powerhouse performance. However, Yaami, like her counterparts would like to believe that she doesn’t consider anyone as her competition. “I’m sure these questions are asked to everybody and I hear them say mostly that they don’t consider anyone as competition and I know I’m aware but there’s no insecurity,” says Yaami. She continues, It is kind of true when you are in this world; you realise that rivalries, insecurities are not very positive. I cannot operate in my personal or professional life having a little feeling of negativity. I’m aware and connected to what’s happening around me, but beyond a point I’ll need to have a point, I’ll need to have eyes just on myself, what I’m doing, where I stand, where I’m going to go and how I want to do.”
Commenting upon her rivals, she further says, “The best part is that they’re all doing well. They’re all very talented. Parineeti acts very well, I just watched
Hasee Toh Phasee and I think she was very good. I’ll never shirk away from complimenting anyone.”
