Salman Khan, the Bhai of Bollywood, who emerges as a saviour and fighter in his films, also faced death in a few of them. Isn't it ironic that films in which the characters played by Shah Rukh Khan died turned out to be hit whereas films in which Salman’s character died have done average or below average business.
It may be because his fans failed to differentiate between his onscreen and offscreen character. But this also portrays that the actor has the potential to carry off any character with ease.

Veergati

Salman Khan's 1995 film Veergati is the first film in which the actor dies. Veergati was directed by K.K Singh and also stars Atul Agnihotri, Divya Dutta and Akhilendra Mishra in the lead roles. In the film, Salman Khan's character Ajay dies in the end of the film while protecting his brother Shlokh (Atul Agnihotri).

Hello Brother

Salman Khan and Rani Mukherjee's 1999 starrer film Hello Brother is another film in which Salman Khan's character (Hero) dies. In the film, Salman's character Hero dies in the first half of the movie. He was shot dead by his own boss Khanna (Shakti Kapoor). Along with Hero, Inspector Vishal (Arbaaz Khan) was also shot by Khanna right in his heart. So when Hero dies, his heart is transplanted into Vishal's body. Salman Khan's character Hero then turns into a spirit and irritates as well as helps Vishal to punish and take the revenge of his death from Khanna. Hello Brother was directed by Sohail Khan and it is an adaption of a Malayalam Movie Aayushkalam.

Kyon Ki

Salman Khan’s 2006 release Kyon Ki is another film in which his character dies at the end of the film. Kyon Ki was directed by Priyadarshan and also stars Kareena Kapoor, Jackie Shroff in main roles. In the film Salman plays the role of Anand who becomes mentally unstable after his lover’s (Maya played by Rimi Sen) death. He is admitted to a mental asylum where Dr. Tanvi Khurana falls in love with him. When Tanvi’s father Dr. Khurana finds out his daughter’s interest in Anand, he warns her to move on. Due to some circumstances, Dr. Khurana lobotomizes Anand and later Sunil (Jackie Shroff) kills Anand by suffocating him with a pillow. Kyon Ki is a remake of 1986 Malayalam film Thalavattam and is reportedly inspired from the English novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Baabul

Baabul was directed by Ravi Chopra. The film which was released in the year 2006 stars Amitabh Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Salman Khan, John Abraham and Hema Malini in pivotal roles. In the film, Avinash (Salman Khan) falls in love with Millie (Rani Mukherjee).The couple eventually get married and are later blessed with a baby boy who is named Ansh. On the occasion of Ansh's birthday, the family waits for Avinash's arrival but he never shows up as he dies in an accident. Baabul failed to impress the Indian audience completely and was an above average grosser. But the film reportedly did a great business overseas and entered at the 8th position on the UK charts in its first week.

Veer

Veer is a 2009 film directed by Anil Sharma. The film stars Salman Khan, Mithun Chakraborty, Sohail Khan, Jackie Shroff and Zarine Khan in the lead roles. In the film, Salman essays the character of Veer who falls in love with his enemy King of Madhavghar, Gyanendra Singh's daughter Yashodhara (Zarine Khan). In the film Salman Khan's character dies in the end of the film when he is shot by a gunshot by the enemies. The film had a below average run at the box office.
