Katrina seeks blessings at Fatehpur Sikri for ‘Fitoor’

It is a regular feature for Bollywood celebrities to visit religious places to seek some divine intervention before the release of their important films. The latest is Katrina Kaif who visited the holy shrine of Salim Chishti at Fatehpur Sikri to pray for the success of her upcoming film ‘Fitoor’, where she is paired opposite Aditya Roy Kapur. The actress, in a white salwar-kameez, offered flowers and 'chaddar' at the shrine, as reported by PTI. According to the descendant of Salim Chishti, Arshad Faridi, this was Katrina’s sixth visit to the shrine.

Salman Khan to watch Katrina's 'Fitoor' before its release?

Salman Khan, who is currently busy with the shooting of his film 'Sultan,' has apparently decided to help former lover Katrina Kaif with her upcoming release, 'Fitoor'. The film also stars Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead. While the duo has been working hard on promoting the film, Katrina has decided to seek help from her close friend, Salman. According to a report on DNA, Salman will watch Katrina's 'Fitoor' even before its release. Reportedly, Salman has agreed to see the movie and perhaps suggest last-minute changes, if necessary. Since Salman is busy shooting for 'Sultan,' there are talks of a screen being set up on the sets of 'Sultan' itself.

Fitoor: Here's how much Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapur got paid

Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapur are busy promoting their upcoming film, 'Fitoor.' While the pay-parity issue between actors and actress in the industry has everyone voicing their opinions, looks like Katrina and Aditya won't be complaining. According to a report on DNA, since Katrina is senior to Aditya, the makers felt that she should be paid at par with Aditya. The source stated that Aditya should have been paid much less but because he is producer Siddharth Roy Kapur's brother, he got the kind of money he otherwise could not have demanded. Katrina and Aditya, both were apparently paid Rs 4 crore each for the movie. However, director Abhishek Kapoor has been paid Rs 10 crore, which is more than what the lead pair was paid, combined, said the report.

Katrina Kaif's red hair in 'Fitoor' costs Rs 55 lakh?

Katrina Kaif's red hair has been a source of envy ever since the gorgeous actress debuted them on the red carpet last year. The 'Phantom' actress got her mane coloured for her upcoming movie 'Fitoor' opposite Aditya Roy Kapur. According to a report on MissMalini, the makers reportedly had to shell out a whopping sum of Rs 55 lakhs for Kat's mane. The report states that apparently Katrina couldn't find any local professional who could give her mane the desired shade of red for the character. So, she ended up recruiting a London-based hair colouring expert. This meant that she had to fly to London every few months for a fresh coat. The report further states that Kat's first class tickets and five-star accommodation added up to the enormous cost. However, the report also states that Katrina's team has denied any such news.

Katrina injured while shooting for 'Pashmina'

Katrina Kaif looks stunning in the song 'Pashmina' from her upcoming film, ‘Fitoor.’ The actress, during a recent media interaction, said, "To shoot the song 'Pashmina,' both me and Aditya Roy Kapur had to give up on our Christmas and New Year's holidays. We broke a few bones, had few injuries during the shoot of the song." Kat further added that the shooting of the song included hours of dance rehearsals, lots of yelling, fighting and struggling. However, going by the trailer, we can say for sure that her hard work has paid off.

Aditya Chopra-Sushant Singh: All is not well?


Sushant Singh Rajput, who made heads turn with his fabulous performance in Kai Po Che and Shuddh Desi Romance is miffed with Aditya Chopra, reports dnaindia.com. Sushant had let go of Abhishek Kapoor's mega project - Fitoor opposite Katrina Kaif as the dates for the film clashed with Shekhar Kapur's Paani. But the latest news is that YRF is not ready to produce the film now and Shekhar Kapur is looking for an international producer who can take the film under his wings, the report further states. And this does not stop here. Sushant was also offered Ram Leela before Ranveer Singh but due to YRF's contract he could not sign the film. And last but not the least, Adi Chopra had promised Befikre to Sushant but roped in Ranveer without Sushant's knowledge, the report adds.

Well all this has left Sushant visibly upset with Adi Chopra.

Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan has taken the Bollywood by storm and Harshaali Malhotra, who played Shahida (Munni), the little girl from Pakistan who gets lost in India, is busy garnering accolades for her performance. A report on Pinkvilla.com stated that Harshaali has already started rejecting film offers. Reportedly, the cute girl was offered the role of young Katrina Kaif in the Fitoor, but her mom rejected it. Apparently, the team of Bajrangi Bhaijaan did not want to overexpose Harshaali. Also, Harshaali’s mom did not want her to do a five-minute cameo after a full-fledged role in Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The report further states that Salman also wanted Harshaali for a role in Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo but her mother refused the proposal. The makers of Fitoor were in dilemma when Rekha opted out of the movie. However, Tabu stepped in immediately to fill in for Rekha and this came as a huge relief for the producers, who were left in a lurch after having shot for the entire film with Rekha. According to a report on Mid-day.com, Tabu took only five hours to nod in agreement. The actress was so quick, that within flat five hours, she finalised her costumes, her look-test was done and she was ready to go in front of the camera. Reportedly, the actress had just finished shooting for her portion in the Ajay Devgn-starrer Drishyam when the makers of Fitoor approached her to take up the Begum's role. Quoting a source, the report stated that Tabu considered the role carefully and only then agreed to do the part.

It was recently reported that after Rekha walked out of Abhishek Kapoor's film Fitoor, Tabu was roped in to play the character of Begum, modelled on Charles Dickens' Miss Havisham. When asked about stepping in for Rekha in the film, Tabu said that nobody can replace anybody, reports Mumbai Mirror."We can just bring what we have to a project. Manish Malhotra and Rekhaji have together designed some exquisite costumes which I will now get to wear," the report quoted Tabu. When asked if there were any changes made to the role, she said, "We had just a couple of days before I started shooting, there was no time to mess with the script. Besides, no matter who plays her, Begum will be eccentric and her relationship with the other characters won't change."

Kashmir schedule: Abhishek Kapoor had planned Fitoor as a story set in the picturesque valley of Kashmir. But floods played havoc with those plans and it was decided that the film will be shot in Mumbai. However, the film kicked off in Kashmir in November 2014, reported Mumbai Mirror. Gattu, as Abhishek is fondly called, put the film on floors with Aditya Roy Kapur, who replaced Sushant Singh as the protagonist. The report quoted Gattu saying, "Kashmir is an integral part of the film. We have kicked off the shoot with Aditya here. The first day happened to be his birthday and that makes it an auspicious start. Autumn is gorgeous here and we are hoping to have a great first schedule." Explaining his decision to shoot in Kashmir, Gattu said, "Kashmir has been my muse, it's synonymous with love and symbolises the many facets of the ever-changing emotion. The breathtaking beauty of the Valley will help bring out the nuances in the story as it intertwines with the plot to form the perfect backdrop."

Delhi schedule: Many scenes of Fitoor are picturised in the real locations of Delhi. Aditya Roy Kapur was excited to explore New Delhi from a different perspective, reported Bombay Times. The actor, who has visited the Capital a couple of times before, shot there for the first time for Fitoor. Apparently, Aditya plays a Kashmiri lad and was spotted wearing the traditional pheran. Katrina is believed to be sporting a different look with red hair and royal attire. In one of the pictures that was leaked, the two stars share a kiss on the bridge by the Dal lake and this gives an idea of the chemistry their characters share, concluded the report.

Katrina Kaif bangs a convertible car: While shooting for Fitoor in Delhi, there was a scene that required Katrina to drive a convertible. According to a Bombay Times report, the camera was in front of her car and she sat in the car and started driving it without realising that the door was left open. And suddenly, there was a loud crash as obviously the car had smashed into a wall with the door open, the report stated. Talking to BT, Katrina had said that it was a very nice convertible, and it hit a wall. Aditya, being the method actor that he is, kept on acting in the shot, just in case Abhishek wanted to use it, she said. So, while Abhishek rushed to see if Kat was okay, true actor Adi was still acting, she concluded.

Three-tier security for Katrina Kaif: Katrina Kaif, who was in Srinagar for the shooting of Fitoor was provided with three-tier security. When she arrived at Nishat Bagh in January 2015 to start her first day of filming, the garden was swarming with CRPF personnel and members of J&K police, reported Mumbai Mirror. According to the report, regular vehicles were not allowed but Katrina's car dropped her to the set erected in the lower half of the garden which was closed to tourists and locals. She was accompanied by AK-47 wielding personnel. The scene was Rekha's funeral which explained her all-white apparel, the report further stated. Further to the report, the silence was broken with sudden shouts of "fire, fire" around noon which caused panic among the cast and crew. The blaze started in a tent where the unit's production props are stored. With the temperature dipped to 5 degrees, the security guard had lit a small fire to keep himself warm. A spark burst into flames and engulfed the tent. Alerted by the commotion, the crew rushed to the spot. Katrina retreated to a tent which doubled as a vanity van. The fire was quickly doused and shooting resumed after half an hour, concluded the report.

Rekha walks out: Two days after the film's shoot was completed, Rekha bowed out of Abhishek Kapoor's film after viewing the final rushes, reported Mumbai Mirror. Rekha, who was to play the Indian version of the lovelorn eccentric Miss Havisham in Fitoor, was displeased with the final rushes of the film. A source close to the film had said that when Rekha saw herself on screen, she immediately told the director that she was unhappy with her look and requested Gattu to re-shoot some of the portions featuring her. And even though he was satisfied with the scenes, he readily agreed to oblige Rekha. The choice of Rekha as Begum was lauded as the perfect casting coup but with her walking out, the makers were left scrambling for a replacement. Both Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapur, who play the romantic leads, will have to re-shoot their sequences with Tabu who stepped into the shoes of the legendary star.

Tabu steps in: Director Abhishek Kapoor believes that Tabu, who replaced veteran actress Rekha in the film, will bring a whole new energy to her part. "Tabu is a powerhouse of talent, having made her mark as a strong performer in this male-dominated industry of ours. Her wonderful performances in Indian and international shores are too many to be named. She is an actress who fearlessly goes against the tide and isn't afraid to break stereotypes," Abhishek said to IANS. "I am confident that she will bring a whole new energy to her part in Fitoor. Monetary trouble: After Rekha walked out of the film, the cast is re-shooting the portions with Tabu, and that is apparently adding to the monetary woes of the makers of the film, reports Mid-day.com. The report further stated that special permissions to shoot in Kashmir were obtained with great difficulty, and now the entire process has to be done again. Quoting a source, the report stated that the film was already over budget and the permission to shoot in Kashmir was obtained with a lot of difficulty. Re-shooting will not only add to budget issues, but also getting the similar effect in terms of weather will also be a huge challenge, the source further added.
