Welcome Back: What makes it the most-awaited comic sequel

Welcome back to the world of gangster brothers who have a sister to marry but for whom the groom comes at a price, which they can’t afford. Even when they nail a desirable bachelor, the bachelor nails them. And then there is the master Don to spoil things. Get ready for double the fun in Anees Bazmee’s laugh riot, Welcome Back. The film rides high on expectations post the success of its prequel, Welcome, that had released nine years ago. The trailer packs a punch. Quite a few, actually. Everything – right from the exotic Dubai locales to the huge star cast and the success of the last film – has the crowds excited. Check out why the film is the most-awaited comic sequel scheduled to release this year on September 4.

Bhaigiri

The fantastic jodi of Nana Patekar aka Uday Shankar Shetty and Anil Kapoor aka Majnu is back. Welcome back to the inevitable tiffs and funny one-liners as they search across the globe for a suitable boy for sister, Ranjna (Shruti Haasan). These ‘villains’ can shoot without batting an eyelid and do everything in their capacity to find her a match. However, the Baap of all Bhais, Wanted Bhai arrives to spoil their plans. This bhaigiri will surely be one of the major draws of the film.

The ‘Jamai’ side

While the bride’s side is always dominating, the groom’s side is able to do little but cow down before them. Welcome back to the world of Paresh Rawal aka Dr. Ghunghroo, John Abraham’s father in the film, who falls into their trap. However, with his wit and innocence, he manages to stay afloat until the biggest mob wedding of the year takes place. But since John aka Ajju Bhai is present, everything seems to be taken care of.

Opulence unlimited

Anees Bazmee impresses us again with the expansive shots of Dubai in all its glory. Exploiting the location’s lavish extravagance to the maximum, the film promises to offer eye-popping visuals of the city’s skyscrapers. Welcome Back is the first Bollywood movie to be shot at the luxurious Emirates Palace owned by Abu Dhabi’s royal family. The palace is used as Naseeruddin Shah aka Wanted Bhai’s house in the film.

Action reloaded

When Anees Bazmee does it, he makes it large. And he has not left any stone unturned in going all out to shoot extensive action sequences for Welcome Back. From hovering choppers to SUVs, his definition of action knows no bounds as mega chase scenes unfold in the far and wide deserts of the Arab. With paragliders performing breathtaking stunts in the skies, the film has soared above other comedies. Moreover, John Abraham, too, seems to have a lot of action scenes in the film.
