Armaan Malik brings the Mangrove Conversation to his Gurgaon concert: Using my voice for something bigger than myself is important to me
Armaan Malik is set to return to the live stage with a solo concert in Gurgaon on February 7, marking a first-of-its-kind musical initiative that combines live performance with an environmental cause. Originally scheduled for November and postponed earlier, the concert has been keenly awaited by fans, making this appearance particularly significant.
Anchored in the thought “Every beat, a breath for nature,” the concert is positioned as India’s first musical movement dedicated to mangrove regeneration. Mangroves play a crucial role as a natural defence against climate change and rising sea levels, while also supporting diverse ecosystems. Through a carefully curated solo set featuring popular tracks such as Tu/You, Pehla Pehla Pyaar, Sau Aasmaan, Butta Bomma and Baari Baari, Armaan aims to use music as a medium to build awareness and encourage collective responsibility beyond the stage.
Speaking about the initiative, Armaan said, “Using my voice for something bigger than myself is important to me. Mangroves protect us in silence, and if my music can help amplify their importance, then every note truly matters. I look forward to seeing the audience join me not just as listeners, but as participants in this movement for nature.”
The concert follows Armaan’s homecoming stadium show in Mumbai last November. In a pre-event interaction with Bombay Times, he had shared, “In my 18-year career, this was the first time I performed a stadium show in my hometown. It was a massive moment for me, and the fact that it was sold out made it even more special.”
Talking about his approach to live performances, he added, “My biggest strength is offering a multilingual experience. Music has no language. Even when I perform in a city expecting a certain kind of response, there are always requests across languages. That’s what makes live shows exciting. I see my concerts as a roller coaster of emotions, with something for everyone.”
Reflecting on the Mumbai show, he told the audience, “Being on stage in my own city for my first stadium performance was overwhelming. It meant more to me than I can put into words.”
