‘Who says music videos are passe?’: Alankriitaa Sahai

Actor and performer Alankriitaa Sahai believes music videos are far from losing relevance, arguing that the format has shifted from spectacle to storytelling. The actress, who has been a part of a few music videos in recent times, including her latest with Karan Aujla, says, “Music videos today are not just about glamour; they are about storytelling and emotion. Storytelling has always been central to my work. Acting and music are both powerful in their ability to evoke emotion and connect with audiences. This project was special because it allowed me to explore a different side of myself as a performer.” Ask her about music videos not being as popular as they used to be many years ago and she says, “ ‘Who says music videos are passe?’ People enjoy watching them. I am particular about my work. Instead of taking on every opportunity, I focus on projects and artistes that align with my vision. Collaborating with well-known musicians contributes to my growth.”

The actress, who has been a part of films like Namaste England and OTT shows including Love Per Square Foot. says, “It’s been a fab journey so far and I have carved my space in the entertainment industry with a diverse body of work across films and music videos like the popular Koka. With every project, I continue to evolve, balancing glamour with performance.”
