Music composer-singer Aadesh Shrivastava has finally departed for the other world. After a long battle with the malignant cancer at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital, he relinquished life at 12:30am. The talented musician was 51 years old when he surrendered to the long illness. The music composer who was known for a number of his hit melodies like Mora Piya from Rajneeti had battled cancer when he was diagnosed with it in 2011. After all these years the disease relapsed and took away this talent from the industry. R.I.P.

Aadesh Shrivastava's family: Don’t need funds, but prayers

According to an IANS report, the family of Bollywood singer-composer Aadesh Shrivastava, who is battling with cancer, says they are not seeking financial help from anyone, but everyone's blessings. His brother-in-law and composer Lalit Pandit, from the Jatin-Lalit duo, said that the family is not reeling under a financial crunch, as media reports are indicating.“We are not seeking help from the industry. We don’t need money, we need prayers from people. We don't need funds and we have never asked for funds from anybody,” Lalit told over phone. Shrivastava, whose cancer has relapsed for the third time, is undergoing treatment in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital here since the last 44 days. Lalit also refuted a news report claiming that the family has turned to a Himachal Pradesh-based Tibetan monk Yeshi Dhonden, known for using ancient Tibetan herbal therapies to cure the disease.

In an interview with Filmfare, Aadesh Shrivasatava had spoken about the kind of changes he brought into his life, after his treatment. The Chalte Chalte composer never used to smoke, but after this had also quit drinking. He began sleeping early and waking up on time. To keep his muscles strong he also practiced yoga. He said in the interview that God had sent him back for his kids.

Aadesh who is a gentle person at heart, was deserted by the industry when he was diagnosed with the disease. In an interview with Mumbaimirror.com, Aadesh said, "Falling ill so suddenly was traumatic. But the cold-shoulder treatment I got from the people with whom I've closely worked with for years, has caused me even more damage than the disease itself. Nobody came to visit me after I fell sick." Aadesh also had to sell his favourite Hummer car to pay the hospital bills.

“I couldn’t sleep at night; the soles of my feet would burn. I felt as though nails and needles were being pierced in my legs. Even medicines to numb the nerves didn’t work. After the stem cell transplant, for two days I was drowsy with pain killers. On the third day when I walked to the washroom and saw myself in the mirror, I was shocked! I sank into depression as I was shades darker and had lost my hair. After this shock, my vital parameters began to waver, " he revealed in his interview with Filmfare.com.

But despite all this, Aadesh Shrivasatava bounced back and got back to his actual passion - music. Aadesh, sang the song 'Mora piya mose bolat naahi' from the film Rajneeti. His soulful voice made the song one of the most popular songs of the year. He was also nominated and won many awards for this melodious number. We hope and pray for Aadesh's speedy recovery.
