Upendra’s film '45' has started its box office journey on a decent note. The film opened well on its first day and continued with steady numbers on Day 2. Even though collections dropped on Friday the total figure is still healthy. The film is slowly finding its audience especially in the Kannada market.
Day 1 and day 2 collection numbers
According to the Sacnilk website, on its first day '45' earned around Rs 5.50 crore India net. This gave the film a strong opening. On Day 2 the movie collected close to Rs 2.00 crore India net as per early estimates. With this the total collection for the first two days now stands at around Rs 7.50 crore India net.
Occupancy shows gradual rise
The theatre occupancy on Friday was moderate. '45' recorded an overall Kannada occupancy of 32.16 percent. Morning shows were low at 14.49 percent. Afternoon shows improved to 34.68 percent. Evening shows stayed steady at 35.78 percent. Night shows performed the best with 43.70 percent occupancy.
ETimes verdict
'45' is directed by Arjun Janya. The film stars Shivarajkumar Upendra Raj B. Shetty Rajendran and Pooja Ramachandra in key roles.
The ETimes review shares a mixed view and says “While 45 is rich in ideas and messaging from traffic discipline to existential philosophy grief attachment and spirituality the execution doesn’t always allow these concepts to breathe. The screenplay often feels uneven and rushed prioritising suspense and surprise over organic character development. Vinay’s journey instead of deepening emotionally frequently turns into a series of chases and escapes involving endless goons diluting the philosophical core.”
