Dhananjaya and Dhanyatha set to welcome first child
Kannada actor-filmmaker Dhananjaya and his wife, Dr Dhanyatha Gauraklar, are expecting their first child. “I don’t know how to describe it, but it’s a good feeling. Lately, my Instagram feed is also full of videos of babies. Now, I’m waiting to hold my own baby,” says Dhananjaya, reflecting on family, responsibility, and being rooted.
“Earlier, I wasn’t ready for marriage,” he admits. “But today, I tell my bachelor friends to get married, have a family. It’s a great experience and makes you more empathetic,” he says. About the pregnancy, he says, “We didn’t plan it. The moment we found out, it was a surprise for both of us. We are extremely happy.” Dhanyatha has completed six months, with the baby due in May.
Watching his wife navigate pregnancy has deepened his admiration. “Though she’s a gynaecologist, being pregnant is a whole new experience for her,” he shares. Like most expectant parents, they have spoken about baby names, but Dhananjaya says they’ll know what feels right when the baby arrives. “I just want my wife and baby to be happy and healthy,” he adds.
