Exclusive: Yasha Shivakumar to debut in Tollywood

Actress Yasha Shivakumar, who is awaiting the release of Bairagee, is all set to go beyond the Kannada film industry. She recently signed a Telugu film called Vey Daruvey, which marks her Tollywood debut. The movie sees her sharing screen space with Sairam Shankar, brother of director Puri Jagannadh. The project is directed by Naveen.

An excited Yasha tells us, “I never expected to get an offer from the Telugu industry so early in my career. The makers saw my photographs and felt that I suited the character, which was a pleasant surprise. I felt the team is dedicated towards making good cinema, so I thought it would be the perfect launch vehicle for me. I can understand and speak a little bit of Telugu. The shoot will begin in August, and they plan to wrap it up in a single schedule.”
Talking about her character, the actress adds, “I play a middle-class teenage girl, who enjoys whatever she does in life. I will sport a traditional and modern look. The movie will touch upon one of the burning issues in the country, which will make everyone take notice of it.”
