From Kishore to Bhavana: Kannada stars who remain unrecognized despite their evergreen performances in Sandalwood

Superstars who made everyone go gaga with their movies are always talked about. Their dialogues are mimicked and even their styles are copied by fans. However, what about those artists who even received awards for their performances but were never acknowledged by the audience. Today, we talk about five such brilliant actors who made great contributions to Sandalwood with their noteworthy performances and yet were never reconised for their talents. Kishore is one of the best artists in Sandalwood, who started his career as a theatre artist, made his debut on the big screen in 2004 with the movie ‘Kanti’. Kishore is known for his comic as well as villainous roles. He moved from the Kannada film industry to other industries for recognition. Kishore won the Karnataka State Award for Best Supporting Actor for the movie ‘Raakshasa’, and also won many awards. He made some of the best movies in Kannada, some of them being ‘Ulidavaru Kandanthe’, ‘Raakshasa’, ‘Attahasa’, and others.

Sanchari Vijay is another renowned actor in Sandalwood, who has won the National Award for Best Acting and other awards for his performances. However, Vijay is still struggling to set his benchmark in Kannada film industry. He started his career in 2011 with the movie ‘Rangappa Hogbitna’ and got his recognition from the movie ‘Dasavala’. He is one of the most underrated actors in Sandalwood for various reasons.

Vijay Raghavendra is a National Award winner for his acting, and is also the son of a producer and nephew of the veteran Dr Rajkumar. Vijay started his career as a child artist who saw success, but as an adult, he was not recognized for his acting. He appeared in many successful movies like ‘Ninagagi’ (2002), ‘Kallari Hoovagi’ (2006) and others at the early stage of his career. However, he was never truly recognized in the industry. At present, he is mostly seen in supporting roles in movies.

Sunil Raoh is another successful child artist who started his career with the movie ‘Kendada Male’ in 1987. His acting as a child artist attracted producers and directors and he went on to act in many movies. He acted in the lead role in the movie ‘Excuse Me’ in 2003 which was a blockbuster hit. Later, he featured in many movies which were flops in terms of their plots. So, Sunil started acting in television and web series. Sunil is another brilliant actor who is not recognized in Sandalwood for his acting.

Bhavana is a beautiful, gorgeous and talented actress from Sandalwood, who is not recognized in the industry. She has won three Karnataka State Film Awards and other awards for her acting and still struggling to grow in Kannada film industry. She has acted in Kannada, Tulu, Tamil, and Hindi. Some of her best movies are ‘Shanti’, ‘Aptharakshaka’ and ‘Bhagirathi’.
