He is the elder son of Kannada film legend Dr Rajkumar, and has earned his own fan base across the state, with his talent. Shivarajkumar has acted in more than 125 movies in his career. Despite being in his late 50s, he is known as the energetic star of the Kannada film industry. He is celebrating his 58th birthday today, and on the occasion, let’s take a look at some of the best movies in his career from ‘Anand’ to ‘Kavacha’.

Anand - 1986

'Anand' is one of the best movies in the career of Shivarajkumar. He marked his debut with this movie and played the role of a student. In his first movie, he blew the minds of people with his acting. This film ran for more than 33 weeks in the theatres and made a new Kannada box office record. This movie was directed by Singeetham Srinivasa Rao, where Sudha Rani paired up with Shiavrajkumar for the first time.

Om - 1995

'Om' was a 1995 release that proved to be a career-changing movie for the star. Shivarajkumar created a huge trend in the Kananda film industry through this movie as it made him a mass entertainer and changed his image in the industry. It was directed by Upendra, and Prema played the female lead role. The film featured real-life rowdies Jedarahalli Krishnappa, Bekkina Kannu Rajendra, Tanveer, Korangu Krishna, among others in supporting roles.

Jogi - 2005

'Jogi' is another mind-lowing movie in Shivarajkumar’s career where he played the role of a rowdy as well as a decent boy. This movie is known for the mother-son bond shown in the plot and also the underworld portrayed in it. ‘Jogi’ created a record in Sandalwood for being screened for more than 100 days in more than 60 theatres in Karnataka. The movie revolves around a mother and son who come to the city from a village in search of her other son. However, they never meet each other and the mother dies at the end of the movie. ‘Jogi’ starred Shivarajkumar, Jennifer Kotwal and Arundhati Nag.

Bhajarangi - 2013

‘Bhajarangi’ is another best movie of Shivarajkumar. The sequel of this movie is also releasing soon which is directed by A. Harsha. Shivarajkumar played two different shades as a King and a common man. His acting, even at the age of 51, mesmerised the audience, and he also built his body with six-pack abs at this age. This movie became the highest-grossing movie in 2013, which collected Rs 12.5 crore and ran for 15 days. Aindrita Ray paired up with Shivarajkumar in this movie.

Tagaru - 2018

‘Tagaru’ became one of the best crime movies Shivarajkumar ever acted in. The movie was directed and written by Duniya Soori, and turned out to be one of the biggest commercial blockbusters in recent times. It became the first Kannada movie to be released in Kenya and Japan. Dhananjay and Vasishta N. Simha, who played negative roles, also gained huge fame through this movie.

Kavacha - 2019

Shivarajkumar, for the first time in his career, played a unique and different role in the movie ‘Kavacha’. He played a blind person and the film was directed by GVR Vasu. It was a remake of the 2016 Malayalam movie ‘Oppam’, however, the script of the movie was changed for the Kannada audience. For the first time in the career of Shivarajkumar, he remade a movie from another language and it earned a lot of appreciation from the audience. Shivarajkumar also was appreciated a lot for his acting.
