Sandalwood actors who rocked in other South Indian language films

Actors and actresses from various industries have featured in Sandalwood films, likewise, there is also a huge demand for Kannada actors and actresses who are foraying in other language films including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and even in English. Their talent is pulling more crowd attention towards Sandalwood. Here are the top five Sandalwood actors and actress who are well recognized in other film industries.

Prakash Raj

Prakash Raj is one of the greatest actors of Sandalwood who is not only famous in Telugu but also in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and the Bollywood film industry. He made his big screen debut from the 1991 film ‘Ramachari’. He was well recognized for his acting in the movie ‘Harakeya Kuri’. Prakash started his acting career as a stage artist. The actor is widely known for his popular antagonist roles. ‘Dute’ is his first movie in other film industry, from where he went off to become a great actor in the entire Indian film fraternity. Prakash Raj recently acted in a Hollywood movie with Jackie Chan.

Sudeep

Sudeep is one of the most talented actors in the Kannada film industry. He has acted in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu films. He is not only an actor but also as a director, producer, scriptwriter, and playback singer. Sudeep made his debut from the movie 'Sparsha' in 2000 and has acted in various other language movies like 'Bahubali', 'Raktha Charitra' and 'Poonk'. The actor later produced many super hit movies like ‘Huccha’, ‘Ranga SSLC’, and other movies. His movie ‘Eega’ in Telugu became a super hit and got him a lot of recognition. Currently, Sudeep is busy with many movies like ‘Pailwan’ in Kannada and ‘Seyra Narasimha Reddy’ in Telugu.

Kishore

Kishore is one of the best artists that Sandalwood has ever seen. He started his career as a theater artist and made his debut in the big screen in 2004 movie 'Kanti'. Kishore is known for his hilarious and villain roles. He moved from Kannada film industry to other industry after the recognition. Kishore has won Karnataka State Award for Best Supporting Actor for the movie 'Raakshasa', for which he has also won many other awards. He made some of the best movies in Kannada, including 'Ulidavaru Kandanthe', 'Raakshasa', 'Attahasa', and other movies. Kishore's acting in other languages are very well appreciated.

Nithya Menen

Nithya Menen has emerged as a successful actress in various film industries. She started her acting career as a lead actress with the Kannada film ‘7 O’Clock’ in 2006. Her next Kannada movie ‘Josh’ went on to become the biggest commercial hit in Sandalwood. In 2011, she made her Telugu film debut with the movie ‘Ala Modalaindi’. Her Kannada movie ‘Mynaa’ in 2013 is also the biggest Sandalwood success of her career where she played the role of a handicapped girl.

Haripriya

Haripriya is another Sandalwood artist who became famous across the South Indian film industry. Her acting has inspired many producers and directors. Even though she didn't get to see big success in the early days of her career, her performance in the movies ‘Kallara Santhe’ and ‘Cheluveye Ninne Nodalu’ got her recognition from other film industries. She then went into Kollywood with ‘Kanagavel Kaaka’ and Tollywood with ‘Thakita Thakita’. Since then, Haripriya has been busy with Tamil and Telugu movies, and also made her Mollywood debut with ‘Thiruvambadi Thamban’. After ruling other industries, she made her comeback to Sandalwood with the movie ‘Ugramm’ in 2014 which was a blockbuster hit. She is currently busy with some of the biggest projects including ‘Bell Bottom’, ‘Kurukshetra’, and other movies.
