Maharashtra farmers are curtailing the supply of vegetables, fruits and milk to cities such as Mumbai in a move that could push up food prices in the coming days. Farmers blocked vehicles ferrying vegetables and milk to cities and dumped their loads of produce on to the road in many places.

Speaking to Bangalore Mirror, director

said: “I am happy to see this. Farmers need to get justice. The government seems to be ignoring them. It's high time their problems are solved.

In the movie, Shivarajkumar returns to his village and finds that the farmers are beset by many problems — crops are failing, industrialists backed by the govern ment are trying to usurp their land, heavy loans and constant pressure from banks are forcing them to commit suicide, and the village headman is literally squeezing the life out of them.
