Bad boys on the prowl

One of the fundamental principles that cinema follows is that the story should involve a battle between good and bad. So, you have the do-gooder hero, who inevitably becomes target for the bad guy, either because they both vie for the same girl, or there's some revenge back story or because of some random incident due to which they can't see eye-to-eye.
P Ravi Shankar
Every now and then, there comes along an actor who is almost indispensable in the industry. Going by his track record in the Kannada film industry, it would seem that P Ravi Shankar is one such. The actor is part of pretty much every other film made in Kannada. In fact, such is his presence in Sandalwood now, that it is difficult to pinpoint a few as his best works. P Ravi Shankar is, no doubt, the hottest-selling villain in Kannada films now.

Kannada actor Sourav Loki's claim to fame was his role as villain in the Shivarajkumar-starrer Bhajarangi. So much so that he was rechristened Bhajarangi Loki in the Kannada film industry. The actor is now considered one of the hottest antagonists in the industry. Especially after his outing as a transgender in the Sriimurali-starrer Rathavara. He was also seen in Sharp Shooter with Diganth.

Achyuth is one of the industry's best supporting actors, who excels in both positive and negative roles. From paying pivotal supporting roles, to being father to the hero or heroine to just being the baddie in the tale, he does it all. In fact, Achyuth's portrayal of an evil cop in the Kannada remake of Drishyam, called Drishya, got him a Filmfare award for Best Supporting actor. In recent times, the actor has been making his presence felt in Kollywood as well. His role as villain in the upcoming Urvi has also become a talking point in the industry.

Sharat is the son of character artist Lohitashwa. When you think of Sharat Lohitashwa, it is his roles as the villain in dime a dozen Kannada films that first come to mind. An actor, who began his acting career in theatre, Sharat has over 150-films to his credit. He has won the Best Villain for his role in Aa Dinagalu. After moving to Tamil cinema with Ethir Neechal, the actor made audiences sit up and take notice of his villain role in Pandianadu.

Rangayana Raghu, as the name suggests, made the transition from the stage to the screen. His repertoire extends to all genres and he is equally adept at doing drama, comedy and negative roles. In his over 250-movie filmography, the actor has primarily done comedy and villain roles. The actor, who turned hero with Ice Pice, has once been quoted as saying that playing hero and villain is not very different, just that as villain one tends to do rape scenes and as hero, romantic scenes. He most notably won a Best Actor in A Negative Role for his role in Sanju Weds Geetha.
