The Malayalam beauty Madonna Sebastian or Karnataka's own Asha Bhat - who's your favorite?

2021 has been an eventful year, to say the least, and the Kannada Film Industry wasn't excluded from the mania that unfolded through the months. However, despite the inconveniences, there are several silver linings to celebrate which came in the form of acting debuts - the year has brimmed with beauty and elegance as not one but six different lovely actresses made their bonafide Kannada debuts.

Asha Bhat

The Bhadravathi girl Asha Bhat first made the headlines in 2014 by becoming the very first Indian to win the Miss Supranational pageant. While a career in cinema seemed guaranteed after that, Asha didn't rush into doing so, to her credit, but instead chose to test the waters first and then take the plunge. She made her acting debut in 2019 with the Hindi film 'Junglee', alongside Vidyut Jamwal, but it was Tharun K. Sudhir's recent superhit 'Roberrt' that presented her to the Kannada audience for the first time. Asha Bhat's assuring debut has left the audience wanting more.

Sayyeshaa

The always-alluring Sayyeshaa had already charmed the Telugu and Tamil audiences before making foraying into Kannada cinema with Santhosh Ananddram's 'Yuvarathnaa'. The film saw her essay the role of a doctor but it was her stellar display of dancing skills, alongside Powerstar Puneeth Rajkumar, that affirmed her entry as a credible performer. Sayyeshaa is married to Tamil superstar Arya and the couple was blessed with a child very recently.

Ganavi Laxman

Having impressed everyone with her assuring performance in T.N. Seetharam's TV serial 'Magalu Janaki', Ganavi Laxman's film debut happened under interesting circumstances. The talented actor starred as Heroine opposite Rishab Shetty in Bharath Raj's 'Hero', a film that was shot within a quick span of time post the first lockdown in 2020. Ganavi Laxman will soon be seen in the film 'Bhavachithra'.

Post the initial success, she would go on to feature in big Tamil films such as 'Bigil', alongside Vijay, and then finally maker her official Kannada debut with Rohith Padaki's recent OTT release 'Rathnan Prapancha'. Dhanya Ramkumar

As the very first female entrant to the acting world from the Dr. Rajkumar clan, Dhanya Ramkumar ensured that her debut was a special one. Opting out of the corporate world and choosing to act in films of her own accord, Dhanya's maiden outing came in the form of 'Ninna Sanihake'. Written and directed by Suraj Gowda, who also starred in the lead role, 'Ninna Sanihake' made all the right noise prior to its theatrical release through its fresh visuals, subject matter, and music (by Raghu Dixit). The film then premiered on an OTT platform to great reception.

Madonna Sebastian

While 'Kotigobba-3' turned out to be one of the year's most-awaited releases, Madonna Sebastian's entry into Sandalwood is a gleaming highlight on its own merit. The gorgeous actress starred opposite Kiccha Sudeep in the film as Priya and impressed everyone with her confident screen presence. Although Madonna hasn't announced her return to Kannada cinema yet, one would definitely hope to more of her in the coming days.
