Artistic value over entertainment for Kunchacko
Actor Kunchacko Boban promises a different treat for his audience with his next film 'Bhaktiprasthanam: God for Sale'. The actor, whose second coming has been replete with mass entertainers, says this time, he has given prominence to artistic value over entertainment.
“This film might not have the elements of my previous out ’n out commercial ventures in that intensity, but it will be something that can connect and communicate with the audience,” he says.

The actor plays a godman in the Babu Janardhanan-directed flick that shows the four phases of his life.
“The film narrates how a person’s faith changes during the various stages of his life,” Kunchacko says. “For instance, when you are in school, your faith is what your parents have taught you. When you are in your late teens, you become a rebel and question that faith. Then when you face the harsh realities of life, you grasp on to the same faith even tighter,” he explains.
The film, which also stars Suraaj Venjaramoodu, Thilakan and Tini Tom, shows the lead character’s life and the various hurdles he faces during these phases. “It’s laced with humour and satire,” informs Kunchacko, who is currently shooting for Shafi’s 101 Weddings.
Despite Bhaktiprasthanam having a mature theme unlike his previous films, Kunchacko says, “Films don’t have to be mass entertainers to pull in the crowd. As long as there is good content, it is sure to work.”
