​CBI 5: Interesting facts you should know about Mammootty’s upcoming investigation thriller

In the year 1988 director K Madhu and writer SN Swamy set a milestone in the Malayalam film industry with the investigation thriller film ‘Oru CBI Diary Kurippu’. With a variety of mysterious cases, the film expanded for over 3 more successful installments and within no time Mammootty’s investigation officer character Sethurama Iyer slalomed into the hearts of every Malayali audience. As the fifth installment of the superhit series is prepping up, let's take a look at some of the interesting facts you should know about the upcoming installment titled ‘CBI 5: The Brain’.

Not only the return of Jagathy Sreekumar

We all know that the actor Jagathy Sreekumar is making his comeback to acting in the fifth installment of the CBI series as the character named Vikram. Recently the makers also unveiled a character look poster for Jagathy Sreekumar in ‘CBI 5: The Brain’. Apart from that, Jagathy Sreekumar’s son Rajkumar Sreekumar will be also playing a major role in the upcoming CBI series installment. Actors Mukesh and Saikumar will be reprising their respective roles as Chacko and Sathyadas in 'CBI 5'.

The suspense

We all know that the CBI series is famous mainly for its suspense elements and the unexpected climax twist is something that elevates the overall mood of the film. Coming to ‘CBI 5’, Ramesh Pisharody, who plays a major role in the upcoming installment, shared a picture from the sets of ‘CBI 5’ and penned a note saying that only a few of the casts know about the suspense of the film and the rest doesn't have any information on the climax twist of the film.

Restricting the use of mobile cameras in shooting set

In the recently shared picture from the sets of ‘CBI 5’, by Ramesh Pisharody, the actor also mentioned that the cast was not allowed to use mobile cameras in the primal shooting location. This shows how much the makers care about keeping the details of the project secret.

Duration taken to complete the script

During the announcement of the fifth installment of the CBI series, the writer SN Swamy said that he took over 3 years and 4 months to complete the script. He also added that the film’s climax will set a benchmark for all the upcoming thriller films and will surely be a new experience for the audience.
