It’s always a trend in the
film industry to remake a successful film in other languages and the ‘Manjummel Boys’ director
Chidambaram has different views on this.
Talking to PTI, Chidambaram said that although he is open to remaking films, he opposed the idea of remaking ‘Manjummel Boys’ into other languages. The ‘Jaan. E. Man’ director revealed that ‘Manjummel Boys’, being a real story about a real cave and people, is a cultural connection between
Kerala and Tamil Nadu people. He said that the real essence of the film will be lost in translation into other languages.

Standing firm on his statement that ‘I don’t think ‘Manjummel Boys’ should be remade into other languages’, Chidambaram called it a pure humane story that has a universal appeal due to the theme it handles.
Meanwhile, ‘Manjummel Boys’, the survival thriller film, received several positive reviews from the audiences for its execution, music composition, magnificent acting, and several other factors. ‘Manjummel Boys’ turned out to be a box office success and the film featured the actors Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Deepak Parambol, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi, and many others in pivotal lead roles.
‘Manjummel Boys’ tells the real-life story of a group of friends who get into a mishap as they visit the Guna Caves in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu.
Chidambaram’s directorial debut was with the Basil Joseph starrer ‘Jaan.E.Man’ which received good reviews from the audiences. The movie also featured the actors Arjun Ashokan, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi, and Lal in pivotal roles.
