Happy Birthday, Jagadish: Lesser known facts about the actor
Actor-comedian Jagadish is turning a year older today. Jagadish ventured into cinema with the 1984 film ‘My Dear Kuttichathan’. In his career spanning over three decades, Jagadish has been part of over three hundred films. From leaving the cinephiles spellbound with the character roles to making them laugh their lungs out with the hilarious roles, Jagadish has been entertaining the movie buffs for a while.
On his birthday, here’s taking a look at some of the lesser know facts about the actor, we bet you didn’t know!
He made his debut with ‘My Dear Kuttichathan’
Jagadish entered movies by the mid-1980s. He marked his debut in movies with the iconic film ‘My Dear Kuttichathan’, India's first 3D film. The film was directed by Jijo Punnoose and Jagadish played a minor role in the movie. Although, Jagadish entered movies through ‘My Dear Kuttichathan’, he shot to fame after appearing in ‘In Harihar Nagar’ a 1990 release. His role of Appukuttan in the film won hearts and continues to remain one of the most popular roles in his career.
He was a professor
Yes, you read it right! Jagadish was a college lecturer before joining movies. He is a postgraduate and a rank holder. He did M.Com and worked in a bank for a while, and later he found interest in teaching and worked as a professor in a popular college.
Senior to Mohanlal
Did you know Jagadish and Mohanlal went to the same school? Well, now you know! Jagadish was a senior to Mohanlal in school. Both of them did their pre-university course in the same school and their bond continued even when they worked together. Mohanlal and Jagadish have shared the screen in many films including ‘Kakkakuyil’, ‘Mr. Brahmachari’, ‘Manthrikam’, ‘Chathurangam’, and ‘Butterflies’ among others.
He has crooned songs for a few films
Jagadish has always chased his dreams. From having a successful career in the banking sector to becoming an actor and later scripting for films, nothing was off-limits to the star. He was always interested in music and the actor has also crooned for a few movies. He has lent his voice to a few movies like ‘Praayikkara Paappaan’, ‘British Market’ and ‘Kalyaanakkurimaanam’ among others.
