The gorgeous and talented actor Priya Mani is turning a year older today. The diva who stepped into the showbiz in 2002, has been entertaining all of us for nearly two decades now. Priya Mani has worked both in South and Bollywood movies and is one of the most loved stars in our country.

National Award-winning actress
Priya Mani is one of the most seasoned and most sought-after actors in the South. She marked her debut in movies with the 2002 release Telugu film ‘Evare Atagaadu’. A couple of years after her debut, Priyamani signed for ‘Paruthiveeran’. She played the leading lady in the film opposite Karthi. The film saw Priya Mani in the role of Muthazhagu and her performance earned praise! She in fact, bagged the National Award for best actress for her performance in the 2006 Tamil film!

Bollywood films
Priya Mani was born in Bengaluru and so most of the languages were familiar to her. Apart from acting in all the South languages - Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam, she has also acted in a couple of Hindi films. Priya Mani made her debut in B-Town with ‘Raavan’, a film helmed by Mani Ratnam. She has also acted in ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Ateet’.

Shared screen space with Shah Rukh Khan
Priya Mani has acted alongside Bollywood’s King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan! Yes, that’s right. She signed in to do a dance number in the 2013 film ‘Chennai Express’. Priya Mani was featured in the iconic dance number the ‘Lungi dance’. The diva is an ardent fan of Shah Rukh Khan, she has always been vocal about it. Priya Mani apparently didn’t charge for the dance in the film!

She is a dancer
Priya Mani is a dancer too! The diva is a trained dancer and considers dance as the rhythm of her soul. And Priya Mani has undeniably left the cinephiles awestruck with her dance moves in some of her movies. The actress has also appeared as a judge on many dance reality shows.

Connected to Vidya Balan
Priya Mani comes from a family of artists. She is the granddaughter of Carnatic vocalist, Kamala Kailas and also the niece of playback singer, Malgudi Shubha.
The ‘Thirakatha’ actress is also related to Bollywood actress Vidya Balan! Yes, that's right. Priya Mani is the cousin of Vidya Balan.
