HBD Fahadh Faasil: Timeline of the actor’s journey from failure to stardom

One doesn’t need to watch umpteen motivational videos to understand that ‘Failure is a better teacher than success’, just look into the cinematic journey of the Mollywood actor Fahadh Faasil and see how the actor molded himself by facing failures and enjoyed the fruit of success. Today Fahadh Faasil has become a pan-Indian superstar and with his countless memorable performances over the years, he is truly someone who is a guidebook to success. As the actor is turning a year old, let's take a look at the timeline of the actor’s journey from failure to stardom.

The 2002 film ‘Kaiyethum Doorath’ not only marked the failure of the actor Fahadh Faasil, but also proved to be the worst film in the career of the director Fazil (Fahadh’s father). One can only imagine the disappointment when a proud father was supposed to introduce his son through his own film which sadly turned out to be a disaster. Fahadh was mocked for his childish looks and even poor performance as the romantic entertainer. The actor reportedly said, “don't blame my father for my failure because it was my mistake and I came into acting without any preparation of my own.” Fahadh stayed away from the spotlight for a while after the failure of ‘Kaiyethum Doorath’.

After the terrible failure of ‘Kaiyethum Doorath’, Fahadh Faasil moved to the United States for five years where he pursued his studies. A small ray of hope started to appear as he was roped in to play a pivotal role in the anthology film ‘Kerala Cafe’ curated by the renowned director Ranjith. Fahadh played a journalist character in one of the segments titled ‘Mrityunjayam’ which was directed by Uday Ananthan. Also, Fahadh didn’t get much recognition for his character in the segment, the audience clearly understood that he has improved a lot from his underwhelming performance in his debut movie.

Fahadh Faasil, later on, played small roles in several movies and most of them got minimal recognition from the audience. For the reason of being cast in a small role, the audience was not able to see what kind of an actor he was. He played supporting roles in the movies ‘Pramani’, ‘Cocktail’, and ‘Tournament’.

Finally, the time has come for Fahadh Faasil to prove to the audience how brilliant an actor he is with the thriller film ‘Chaappa Kurishu’ which was directed by Sameer Thahir. Fahadh Faasil played a lead character in the film and in an interview, the actor said that he was lucky to be part of such a critically acclaimed movie. Slowly Fahadh started playing character-oriented roles that helped to unveil his acting prowess. Fahadh Faasil played prominent and notable roles in the films ‘Akam’, ‘22 Female Kottayam’, ‘Diamond Necklace’, and many others.

After playing the antagonist role in ‘22 Female Kottayam’, Fahadh Faasil proved that he is able to perform any kind of role and later he essayed significant lead roles in the movies ‘Amen’, ‘Natholi Oru Cheriya Meenalla’, ‘North 24 Kaatham’, ‘Oru Indian Pranayakadha’, ‘Maheshinte Prathikaaram’, ‘Take Off’, ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’ and even in a couple of other language movies.

What makes Fahadh Faasil different from other superstars is that he is able to perform any kind of role. Be it a very traditional guy or even a modern guy, for Fahadh Faasil it's just a cakewalk in breathing life into any kind of on-screen character. Now the actor has become a pan-Indian superstar and with his magnificent performance in the Tamil film ‘Vikram’ and the Telugu action entertainer ‘Pushpa’, Fahadh Faasil has created a fan base among all kinds of audiences irrespective of language or regional barriers. The actor also has a list of highly anticipated projects in the pipeline that includes, ‘Pushpa: The Rule- Part 2’, ‘Maamannan’, ‘Paattu’, and ‘Paachuvum Albhuthavilakkum’.
