It is for the first time that actor Kunchacko Boban is turning a cab driver for a film. The garb of a taxi driver apparently suited him so well that he was mistaken for a real driver by the locals in Dubai! Nishad Koya, the scriptwriter of the film, narrates the funny incident. “We were shooting one night at Rolla Square where this incident occurred.
It was a wide shot and the crew was away. An arab family couldn’t make out whether it was a shooting set. They got inside the cab and said, ‘Sharjah market’,” says Nishad with a laugh.
The actor was dressed in a white-striped shirt with blue tie, the uniform of a cab driver in Dubai. “The entire cast and crew had a good laugh. Later, the family realized their mistake and clicked pictures with the actor,” adds Nishad. The untitled rom-com will be shot entirely in Dubai and Sri Lanka. The movie has a few conversations in Arabic, and Biju and Kunchacko had to learn the basics of the language to get it right, says Nishad. Parvathy Ratheesh, daughter of the late actor Ratheesh, plays the female lead. The team will travel to Sri Lanka on March 15 to complete the rest of the portions.
