Mohanlal exits Chiranjeevi's film: Rs 30 cr demand changes Bobby's plans - Reports
A major budget problem has reportedly hit the underproduction Chiranjeevi film directed by Bobby. The makers were planning a special cameo by Mohanlal in the film. The idea was that Mohanlal would do this role without taking any payment. This was planned as a goodwill gesture because Chiranjeevi and Mohanlal have never appeared together on screen before.
Director Bobby is said to share a good personal relationship with Mohanlal. Because of this, the team believed the Malayalam superstar would agree to the cameo for free. But things did not go as expected.
After this development the makers are now looking at a Telugu star to play the role. The new actor is expected to do the part without remuneration. This sudden change has forced the team to rethink their plans and adjust the casting quickly so that the project can move forward smoothly.
The story is reportedly said to be based on a gangster theme. The entire gangster story is expected to run against a Kolkata backdrop. Gangster films are currently getting strong support from audiences and the Kolkata setting is expected to give the movie a powerful look and feel.
Even though the film is a gangster movie, family emotions are also said to play an important role. The story is expected to move mainly around strong emotions.
One of the biggest highlights of the film is said to be the emotional side. Strong emotional scenes are expected throughout the movie. The bonding between a father and daughter is said to be the heart of the story.
As for Mohanlal, he was seen in nearly five films last year. 'L2: Empuraan' impressed Telugu audiences. He also appeared in a guest role in 'Kannappa'. Currently Mohanlal is busy with Drishyam 3 and is also acting in a film titled 'Patriot'.
