'Neru’ pre-sales: Mohanlal’s court drama mints Rs 33.84 lakhs

Even though the initial promotions for Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph’s upcoming film ‘Neru’ were not impressive, it seems like the movie has slowly picked the attention of the audiences with its catchy trailer. Reports say that ‘Neru’ has done a good pre-sales figure of Rs 33.84 lakhs.

For Kerala's box office, 'Neru' has garnered considerable pre-sales traction, registering a total of ₹33.84 lakhs from 584 shows with a 12.52% occupancy rate, signaling a promising start.


In the UAE market, the movie has also made a significant impact, recording pre-sales business amounting to Rs 3.45 lakhs, drawing attention with 141 shows and 444 admissions, as reported by Friday Matinee's UAE Pre-Sales Update on December 14.

'Neru' weaves a gripping tale conceived from the collaborative efforts of Jeethu Joseph and Santhi Mayadevi, renowned for her role in 'Drishyam 2.' The narrative orbits around Vijayamohan, portrayed by the legendary Mohanlal, who immerses himself in defending an uncertainly hopeful accused in a courtroom trial.

Amidst the intense legal drama, the film intricately explores Sara's journey, a visually impaired sculptor struggling with trauma while striving for justice. 'Neru' is expected to be an engaging drama which is different from Jeethu Joseph's previous thrillers 'Drishyam', 'Memories', and '12th Man'.

Beyond Mohanlal's stellar performance, 'Neru' boasts an ensemble cast featuring talents like Priyamani, Santhi Mayadevi, Anaswara Rajan, Siddique, Jagadish, Mathew Varghese, Sreedhanya, and Sankar Induchoodan.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani’s most awaited comedy-drama movie ‘Dunki’ is also hitting the big screens on December 21. Compared to ‘Neru’, the hype for the SRK starrer is mediocre in the state.
