Times when Non- Malayali actors praised the M-Town stars

Irrespective of different cultures, castes and societies, there is one thing that connects all people together around the globe and that is ‘Cinema’. Likewise, the bonding between the actors across the several film industries in India is really praiseworthy. Although the Malayalam film industry is a really small industry, several other actors from big industries such as Bollywood, Tollywood, have shown their admiration towards Malayalam cinema and the actors. Here let’s take a look at some of the Non- Malayali actors who opened up on their love towards the actors in the Malayalam industry.

Allu Arjun on Mohanlal

“There is no South Indian actor who doesn’t love Mohanlal”. These were the words said by the Telugu actor Allu Arjun during the press event function in Kochi, Kerala for his upcoming film ‘Pushpa: The Rise’. He also added by saying that he had grown up watching the movies of Mohanlal and other superstars, so the level of admiration for Mohanlal is immense. Actor Fahadh Faasil plays an important role in ‘Pushpa’ and Allu Arjun said that he was stunned by the magnificent performance of the actor. Allu Arjun also has a huge fan base in Kerala and among Malayali’s he’s fondly called ‘Mallu Arjun’.

Dhanush on Manju Warrier

The Tamil actor Dhanush shared Screen Space with the Malayalam actress Manju Warrier for the film ‘Asuran’ which was directed by Vetrimaran and was released in the year 2019. In the audio launch function of the film, the talented actor Dhanush opened up about Manju Warrier’s acting by saying: “ if anybody has stunned me with acting, it is Manju Warrier”. He also added by saying that Manju Warrier has been a friend of his for a long time and during the filming, Manju Warrier’s acting felt very raw and original that he didn’t feel at any point that she was acting.

Shah Rukh Khan on Mohanlal

The Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, who is the heartthrob of millions, expressed his love towards working with the Malayalam actor Mohanlal during an award function that was conducted in Kerala. He said that he has a huge amount of respect for the actor Mohanlal and working with him would be the greatest achievement that he can have in his life. He also said: “ I saw a film of his where he is playing a dancer role with all the makeup and all, I mean he is such a great artist. It would be nice to get an opportunity for me to learn a little more from him”.

Salman Khan on Mammootty

Salman Khan, the muscle man of Bollywood also expressed his love towards one of the superstars in Kerala and that is Mammootty. Salman Khan visited Kerala for the promotion of his comedy-action film ‘Ready’ and during the press meet he was asked whether he would act in a Malayalam film and he replied: “ if there is a film offered for me to act with someone like Mammootty, then I would definitely do it”.

Sunny Leone on Mohanlal

Actress Sunny Leone expressed her love towards Malayalis and Malayalam actors during an inauguration function conducted in Kerala. And also as per reports, she was approached by a Malayalam filmmaker to do an important lead in a Malayalam film and she enquired him whether it was possible to get a chance to screen space with the actor Mohanlal. She has appeared for a dance number in the film ‘Madhura Raja’ starring Mammootty in the lead role.

Rajkumar Rao on Vinay Forrt

Malayalam actor Vinay Forrt played a prominent role in the film ‘Malik’ in a character named ‘David’ After watching the film the Bollywood actor Rajkumar Rao heaped praise on Vinay Forrt’s performance in the film by sending him a message via his Instagram handle. Vinay Forrt took a screenshot of the message and posted it on his social media handles. The message sent by Rajkumar Rao read: “ Hi Vinay, Rajkumar here. Saw Malik and wanted to congratulate you on a brilliant performance”

Mahira Khan on Malayalam films

Bollywood actress Mahira Khan is famous for the SRK starrer film ‘Raees’ and in one of her interviews, she heaped praise for Malayalam films and the actors. She said that she keeps on recommending her friends and relatives in Pakistan to watch Malayalam films as she is truly amazed by the contents delivered through Malayalam films.
