Mammootty – Dulquer Salmaan
Mammooty is a five time winner of the Kerala State Film Awards. The megastar bagged his first award for his performance in the 1981 movie ‘Ahimsa’ and ‘Adiyozhukkukal’. He also won the prestigious award in 1989, 1993, 2004, and 2009. The films include ‘Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha’, ‘Mrigaya,’ ‘Mahayanam,’ Vidheyan’, ‘Ponthan Mada’, ‘Valtsalyam’, ‘Kazhcha’, and Paleri Manikyam. Mammooty’s son Dulquer Salmaan, who began his acting career with the Malayalam movie ‘Second Show’ in 2006, bagged his first State Award for his performance in ‘Charlie’ in 2015.

Superstar Mohanlal is a six time State Award winner having won the first in 1986 for his performance in ‘TP Balagopalan M.A’. He then bagged the award in 1991, 1995, 1999, 2005, and 2007. Some of his movies include, ‘Abhimanyu’, ‘Kilukkam’, ‘Ulladakkam’, ‘Spadikam’, ‘Kaalapani’, ‘Vanaprastham,’ ‘Thanmathra,’ and ‘Paradesi’. The superstar’s son has so far acted in only one movie ‘Punarjani’ for which he won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artiste in 2002.

Jayaram bagged the Kerala State Special Jury Award in 1996 for his performance in ‘Thooval Koottaram’ and ‘Swayamvara Panthal’. The actor’s son made his debut as a child artiste in the 2000 movie ‘Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal’. He bagged his first State Award for Best Child Artiste in 2003 for his performance in ‘Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum’. The movie was a huge commercial success where he also shared screen space with his illustrious father, thus plunging on to stardom at the tender age of 7.

The veteran filmmaker Fazil has won many state awards and some of his popular films include the cult classic ‘Manichitrathazu’ ‘Ennennum Kannettante’ ‘Nokketha Dhoorathu Kannum Nattu’ ‘Ente Mamattikkuttiyammakku’ and ‘Manjil Virinja Pookkal. His son Fahadh Faasil who made his acting debut in 2002 has bagged the Kerala State Film Awards for the films ‘Artist,’ ‘North 24 Kaatham’ in 2013 and in 2000 for the movie ‘Akam.’

The late superstar Sukumaran was honoured with the Kerala State Film Awards for his performance in MT Vasudevan Nair’s film ‘Bandhanam’ in 1978. Sukumaran’s son Prithviraj has won the prestigious award twice in ‘Celluloid’ and ‘Vaasthavam’; both the movies were commercially successful. His performance of J.C Daniel was appreciated more by both audience and critics alike. The actors production venture ‘Indian Rupee’ was awarded the best film in 2011.
