We had earlier reported about the acclaimed film Angamaly Diaries getting a Marathi remake. Titled Kolhapur Diaries, the film is being helmed by Joe Rajan and will be based in Kolhapur. We have now learnt that actor
Bhushan Patil is playing the lead in the Marathi version. Bhushan will take on the role essayed by actor Vincent Pepe in the original.
Speaking to us about the physi cal transformation he had to go through, Bhushan says, “The film is broadly divided into two parts and I play the younger and older version of the character.
For the older version, I had to beef up and then I had six months to shed weight to shoot for the younger one. Frankly, the process of gaining and losing weight has become like a cakewalk for me. However, it takes time and fortunately we had that for this film.”

For the role of Jiva, Bhushan also undertook a month-long workshop. “It was important to get the rustic feel and Kolhapuri accent right. The workshop helped a lot,” he shares.
On the personal front, Bhushan, who also happens to celebrate his birthday today, is awaiting the arrival of his firstborn. He says, “Grace and I are eagerly awaiting the special moment. The baby is due anytime in the next 7 days and both of us are excited. I have taken time off from work too.”
