The recently released Marathi thriller 'Dashavatar' starring
Dilip Prabhavalkar, directed by
Subodh Khanolkar, hit the theatres on September 12. The movie has been performing well at the box office, as after a successful weekend, the film went on to collect good numbers on its first Monday.
As per trade analyst Sacnilk, the movie, which opened at Rs 58 Lakhs on Friday, gained more than double numbers on the second day with word of mouth, as it minted over Rs 1.39 crore. It later collected an impeccable Rs 2.72 crore on Sunday and followed it up with Rs 1.01 crore on Monday. This brings the total to Rs 5.7 crore. With such a positive start, the movie could continue to grow in the coming days and may turn out to be the best-performing Marathi film of the year as well.
Theatre occupancy
It had a decent occupancy rate for a Monday show, as the overall rate was 26.32%. In the morning, the film had a 12.40% occupancy rate and later saw a gradual increase of 18.93% in the afternoon. It also saw a growth in the occupancy with evening shows at 28.70% and the night shows with almost half full at 45.26%.

The Marathi language suspense thriller stars Dilip Prabhavalkar playing the lead role as Babuli Mestri. His character is a devoted Dashavatari folk theater performer from the Konkan region. Preserving the culture and heritage, he performs the theatre that celebrates the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu.
