​Inspired by B B Borkar's short story

Mahesh Manjrekar’s 'Panghrun' is inspired by a short story by the renowned poet and author B B Borkar. Going by trailer, the film revolves around Lakshmi (Gauri Ingawale) who is a fun-loving, chirpy young girl, who became a widow at an early age and was married to a man of her father's age (played by Amol Bavdekar). It shows the longing for your cohabitation partner as you get older and the interaction that comes with it.

​Gauri Ingawale as Lakshmi

Gauri Ingawale is the step-daughter of the Marathi actor and director, Mahesh Manjrekar. Gauri will be making her debut as a lead-in 'Panghrun'. Talking about his daughter making a debut, he said, " It's a proud moment for when your children get to do what they want and it's a great feeling. She made her debut in Marathi cinema as a child artist and in 'Panghrun' she will be portraying a lead role. 'Panghrun' is a period drama film which showcases the story of widow."
