After the blockbuster film, '
Sairat
', the young actor
Rinku Rajguru has made her returns to
Marathi cinema
with National award-winning filmmaker,
Makarand Mane's
'Kaagar'
. Three years after her breakout role in 'Sairat', the young actor talks about staying a student even while taking on new projects, her love for reading and playing a politician in 'Kaagar'. Here are excerpts from the candid chat with the Marathi star.
The popularity of 'Sairat''s Archi is still strong and its warm reception by the critics and box office alike, a plethora of scripts and several films offers came Rinku Rajguru's way but the young actress refused them all. She said " 'Sairat' was so good and so huge that I became a household name. I received several offers from Marathi and
Bollywood
as well, but I wasn’t interested in repeating what’s already done. When I am returning to the big screen, my work needs to be good and worth it, the subject must be good enough, that people want to watch it."
After portraying the character of Archi in 'Sairat', the young diva will be seen playing Raani in 'Kaagar'. Rinku opens up about her character and said " Archi is so dear to me. It will always be the closest to my heart. But Raani is nowhere similar to Archi, she is a totally different character. I wanted to do something different and I decided to play this role because it was different than Archi. Raani's upbringing and way thinking are totally different and many felt that it is close to Archi after watching the trailer of the film, but it's not like that."
While sharing her experience during the shoot of 'Kaagar', Rinku said "The most of the scenes from the film are filmed at my native place and some of the scenes are from other villages in
Maharashtra. I still remember that, when we were shooting and a huge crowd had gathered to see us. And they were chanting the name of Archi. People love me, they shower love wherever I go, I get to meet new people every time and the love I get in all these places is so much, I cannot even explain.
She opened up about working with director Makarand Mane and said " Makarand sir is a very sensible director, very talented. And more than directors, he is a very friendly person who is very supportive. So, there is a different comfort working with him on the sets. He has a lot of experience and got to learn a lot when we're shooting.
