'Mr. X' box office collection day 1: Arya and Manju Warrier's spy thriller opens slow; India Net at Rs 65 lakhs

'Arya' and 'Manju Warrier' starrer 'Mr. X' had a modest start at the box office on its first day.

The spy action thriller collected Rs 65 lakhs India net across 1,686 shows. This brings the total India gross to Rs 75 lakhs as per early reports from Sacnilk. The film released on April 17, 2026.

Box office breakdown of Manju Warrier's film

Tamil version contributed Rs 60 lakhs net at 16.0 percent occupancy from 1,287 shows. Telugu version added Rs 5 lakhs net at 14.0 percent occupancy from 399 shows. Overall India net collection stands at Rs 65 lakhs.

'Mr X' storyline

When a lost nuclear device resurfaces in the enemy's hands, India orders the execution of its own captured spy. A rogue agent defies orders, uncovering a conspiracy that may ignite World War III. Taking to Twitter, the director Manu Anand wrote, "After years of waiting, I am glad that we get to present Mr X to you! I am grateful to my cast, crew and producers for trusting me with this film. Hope all of you will come to theatres to watch us on the 17th of April. Thank you #MrX."

During a recent event he added a realistic promise, " If you like #MrX, support it. If it isn’t good, then please don’t support it. I don’t want to create false expectations. This isn’t a never-seen-before Dhurandhar level film. But it’s a good, paisa-vasool spy action film. That's My promise."
