'Vettaiyan' box office collection: Rajinikanth's film trials Vijay's 'GOAT' in advance sales

'Vettaiyan', starring Rajinikanth, is one of the most highly anticipated films in Indian cinema. As the film is slated to release on October 10, there is significant buzz surrounding the project due to Rajinikanth's immense popularity and the involvement of the other legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan. The reservations for the film are strong across locations, and the film reportedly grossed around Rs 32 crore from the pre-sales for the opening day.The overseas made a better contribution with Rs 17 crore crore coming from the advance sales in foreign locations. 'Vettaiyan' looks strong in Tamil Nadu as the film reportedly earned Rs 10 crore for the opening day so far.

'Vettaiyan' failed to surpass the advance collections of Vijay's September release 'GOAT' as the latter's film grossed over Rs 50 crore in advance sales a day before the film's release. However, let's wait to see whether Rajinikanth's film will take the lead to set a new record for a Tamil film in 2024 or it will end as the second best film so far. 'Vettaiyan' has got more shows than 'GOAT' across locations, and the film is releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada languages.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, 'Vettaiyan' features Rajinikanth as a cop, who hunts for criminals through his encounters, and the film also has Amitabh Bachchan, Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan among others. Anirudh Ravichander takes care of the film's music, and the film has been certified U/A by CBFC with a runtime close to 2 hours 40 minutes.
